2 - As Sent to Film Recorder
Theses are the source charts used to create to the film strips, using a Lasergraphics film recorder. This process transfers the digital image from a CRT through red, green and blue filters directly onto 35mm film at an 8K (8192 x 6724) resolution. The film strips were captured onto Fuji Provia 100F positive (slide) film and Kodak Portra 160 color negative film. The film recorder uses custom Look-Up Tables to match the digital colors to the loaded 35mm film. The digital to film transfer and the film developing (E-6 and C-41) were done by Denver Digital Imaging Center in Denver CO.

This version shows the chart as formated for direct capture from a digital image onto 35mm film.
The CTS-1 frame shows some resolution targets and the six primary screen/print color blocks (RGB and CMY). The upper left target is shown at 100% black, 50% black and 18% neutral gray. The resolution targets show line pairs from 5 pixels to 2 pixels wide when scaled for an 8x10" print. The color blocks (Red/Green/Blue and Cyan/Magenta/Yellow) were originally set in Photoshop with CMY blocks set to pure CMY colors and the RGB blocks set to their matching CMYK equivalents. Cyan is 100-0-0-0 and it’s complement Red is 0-100-100-0. The gradient bar on the right side of each color target goes from 0 to 100% density. The color overlays in the upper right target are set at 50% density. The bottom portion of each color bar is also set at 50% density.
