The Color Test Strip (CTS) is available for sale and is composed of 4 charts/frames on color reversal (slide) film, the same 4 frames on color negative  film, and a set of 4"x6" prints of the same charts. The CTS is intended to allow comparisons of hardware setups, techniques, and the negative-to-positive conversion processes in scanning color negatives with a DSLR. 

The primary purpose of the CTS is to allow a direct comparison of the same image/chart between versions captured on color negative film and on positive (slide) film. The images/charts are captured with the same camera and lens in the exact same lighting conditions. In concept, you should be able to white balance/color correct both images to get close to the same colors after your negative to positive conversion process.

Additionally, the simple color charts provide an excellent target image for other testing, such as reviewing and improving your own color negative workflow. Some of these tests might include the effect of various camera filters while scanning, comparing different light sources used for scanning, or methods like the use of colored gels to offset the orange mask of the negatives. For users just starting with color negative scanning, the simple color charts can provide an excellent tool to quickly see the effects of various editing tools, such as HSL (Hue, Saturation, Luminance) sliders vs overall hue/white balance changes.

The basic CTS strips are provided in set film stocks. The color reversal (slide) film set uses Fujifilm Provia 100F color reversal film.  The color negative strip uses Kodak Portra 400 film.  The set cost is US $24. This includes a color reversal (slide) film set with Fujifilm Provia 100F and a color negative strip with Kodak Portra 400 film.
